I love that feeling of Christmas care

that is special beyond the normal

everyday feeling of what one

should not or should.

I love lighted trees and the children

with fevered imaginations

looking to when Santa will come,

if they have been good.

I love the smells of Christmas,

spicy and warm, filling kitchens

and memories of Christmas past;

and carols with holy sound.

I love remembering the birth of Jesus

and the angels, the shepherds,

the wise men, and the glory of God

shining round.
