1 lg pumpkin gutted, hole in top only
2-3 qts of water
1 lb stewing beef
2 cups diced carrots
3 cups diced potatoes
1 cup celery sliced
1 can Italian tomatoes stewed
(other vegetables as desired)

boil beef and water with a little salt and pepper to taste.  When broth is boiled down and meat is thoroughly cooked, place pumpkin in a baking dish.  Put all vegetables inside and pour broth and meat chunks over the vegetables.  Place pumpkin top on and bake about 2 hours at 350'.  Serve hot.  Use a metal spoon so that you can scoop the inside of the pumpkin into the bowl of stew as you serve it.
