(Cherry Chocolate Cake)

1 ½ cups boiling water

1 cup oats

½ cup butter, melted

2 eggs

2 cups sugar

1½ cups flour

1 tsp each of soda, cinnamon, ginger and vanilla

½ tsp cloves

1 cup candied cherries

1 cup nuts

Mix all ingredients and bake at 350◦ in greased, floured 13 x 9 pan. Cool and glaze cake with this glaze:

1 cup sugar

1 tbsp cocoa

6 tbsp butter

½ cup milk

1 tsp vanilla

Bring to a hard boil. Drizzle on cake.
