This recipe was sent to me by Camille Reeder Keller
Mix and set aside: 3 T yeast 1/2 C warm water 1/2 T sugar
Mix: 2 C scalded milk (cooled) 4 T butter 1/2
C sugar 2 tsp salt 1 C mashed potatoes (cooled) 2 eggs
Add yeast mixture and then add: 6 C flour (no more)
Mix
thoroughly and place in greased bowl to raise for 1 hour. Dough will be sticky. Roll dough on greased or sprayed surface until
1/4 thick. Cut with donut cutter (or use biscuit cutter and something smaller to take out the donut
hole). Pour oil in electric fry pan about 1 1/2 " deep and heat to 350. Cook until golden brown,
drain and dip in frosting while hot. Let cool and serve. Makes 50
Frosting: 1 bag powdered sugar and 1 C milk
