Grandma Knox’s Egg Noodles

1 cup flour

1 large egg

½ egg shell of water

¼ tsp salt

Put flour and salt in mixing bowl. Break the egg as nearly in half as you can. Use the larger half of the egg shell to measure the water. Mix dough. Roll out on a floured board. Cut into strips or run through a pasta machine to make the noodles. Drop a few at a time into a rich meat broth made from beef, chicken or pork with meat chunks and vegetables of your choice, like onion, celery, carrot, etc. Boil a few minutes until the noodles are done. Use a lot of broth for a soup or a little broth for a casserole type dish.
